COPD have teamed up with Holland & Barrett to bring a fab giveaway to all my readers. You can win a Dr. Organic hydration gift set if you answer this question – What is your Top Wintertime Beauty Tip? Yep that’s all you have to do is tell COPD how you stay gorgeous when the weather is cold!

This is what leading health store Holland & Barrett has to say:

Whilst the summer sun causes sweat and oils to clog our pores, winter weather can be especially harsh on our bodies, causing skin to redden, dry out and become rough. As the cold air sucks out the moisture from our skin, it is important to keep it hydrated to stop it from chapping. Lips are particularly prone to dryness and this can look and feel painful. To keep your pout looking healthy and kissable, use an intensive moisturiser to form a barrier against the cold and look for a lip balm with vitamin E as this can add elasticity. Avoid licking your lips as this can make them worse and remove any dead skin by gently exfoliate with a toothbrush.

Good advice yes? Although as you all know I prefer to scrub my lips with a dedicated lip exfoliation product :D

Now to enter this giveaway:

  • Leave me your top wintertime beauty tip in the comments along with your email or Twitter details
  • This is open to my international readers as well as UK

Fab giveaway! My tip is to use an extra rich hand cream as my hands really suffer in winter – and also to use rubber gloves for doing the dishes :) @NicsNotebook :) xx

    Love the giveaway my lovely!
As you know I’m all about the paws, so my no 1 winter beauty tip is to always wear gloves when you venture outside! I always wear my big woollies that my gran knitted for me about 25 years ago lol. They are quality!

Great giveaway! My winter tip has to be to keep up with exfoliating. I use Lush’s Buffy for my body and my Clarisonic mia for my face. If I keep up with exfoliating, I don’t have any dry or flaky skin!

My winter time beauty tip is to apply lip balm before you sleep. Especially since the heating can make them super dry. I really like Blistex’s relief cream as it moisturises and cools. :)

My winter time beauty tip is moisturize and moisturize some more. Start doing it at a young age and especially in rigid winter environments.

I don’t know if this happens to everyone, but in the winter my hair seems to become really dry and lifeless. So if you’re unlucky like me and have this problem, the best wintertime beauty tip I have is to give your hair an egg mask once a week. Mask is made with 1 egg (2 if you have longer hair) + 3 tbsp of honey and as much lemon juice as you want (to help with the scent). Leave it in your hair for 15 minutes then wash it out and voila! Healthy, shiny, moisturized, and protected hair for the winter. :)

My tip is to smother your hands in intensive hand lotion and pop on a pair of cotton gloves just before bed for silky smooth hands. Also don’t neglect your feet during the winter months as otherwise you will have lots of hard work to do to get them in tip top condition come summer!

Oh gosh Im so loving Organic products at the minute. My top winter tip is my oaty floaty!! Its a bath bomb type thing I make, I get a piece of muslin cloth pile in a handful of oats, some coconut oil or other moisturising oil and some spices like cinnamon , cardamon pods, star anise (I actually use this tea free – chai tea!) and some essential oil like rose, then I tie it all up with a hair elastic and soak away in the bath, the oats dissolve into the bath in a gooey goodness and you can use the little muslin bomb to exfoliate and rub the oat-goo on your skin.

Your skin is so soft after. Pics here if you want to see what it looks like :)

I find that during the winter months my eyebrows and eyelashes lose some of their fullness and they just look brittle, so i warm some Vaseline on the back of my hand with my fingers then i use a clean mascara wand to apply it to my eyelashes, I would recommend using different mascara wands for each eye and cleaning them before each use to prevent cross-infection from eye to eye. For the eyebrows I just smooth a small amount of Vaseline over my them with my fingers. I do this before i go to sleep so i can wake up to moisturised lashes which mascara just glides on, such a Great Giveaway!!!!

Well…winter…not the best part of the year. I cannot say I have a winter tip but I keep putting lip balm (especially the Vaseline one) and I wear some pink blush because my skin tends to be quite white :-(
And I have a had lotion on my desk and keep using it !
Thanks a lot for this great giveaway, I don’t know about this brand so I am very curious about it but I know Holland & Barrett (each time I go to London I bring back some nuts from this store and some flapjacks because I cannot find any in France) !!

Ah, winter. Skins seasonal foe. Central heating and cold weather are a really deadly combination… This time of year I need the best performance from my skin care. But winter is also the season where I prefer to wear a full coverage foundation, due to cold induced redness and imperfections. So whats my number one tip? Invest in a really good quality primer. My skin reaps the reward of the barrier a primer provides. I can reap the benefits of my skincare and lock in all the goodness, while prolonging my foundation. Primer- my winter skin savior!

My best winter tip is to layer when it comes to moisturizing. My skin(especially my legs) gets soo dry during the winter, so as soon as I get out of the shower, I slather on some body oil (I’ve been loving coconut lately). Then I give it a couple of minutes to sink in before applying a thick layer of body lotion. That gives me soft, supple skin in the morning!

My winter tip is to add a couple of drops of facial oil to your normal moisturiser to bump it up a bit!
