When met 100% Pure – Part 1
When my nemesis Bath & Body Works decided to discontinue my all time favourite HG body scrub, my mom went and bought about 30 tubs of the stuff and saved it for me. That was about 4 years ago and I’ve been looking for a replacement ever since. Why they ever decided to get rid of the True Blue Spa Higher Grounds Kona Coffee Scrub is beyond me.
I’ve known of 100% Pure for some time now and at one time Bath & Body Works carried the brand in their flagship stores as well as online. I’ve been wanting to try 100% Pure for like forever but every time I’ve gone stateside I could never find it. I don’t recall how I discovered that the brand is now available in the UK, but when I did I had a walk away from the computer and have a quiet moment. Jamie just rolled his eyes with that ‘Oh god what has she found now’ look on his face. After I stopped hyperventilating I placed an order for the Neapolitan Body Scrub gift set for £25.00 + £6.99 shipping.
Okay let’s get down to business. This is the Organic Chocolate Mocha Body Scrub from the set which also contains Strawberry Lemonade and Organic Vanilla Bean body scrub. Now normally I would have a moan about the size of the tub, but as this is in a gift set I’ll let it pass but you know I hate small scrub tubs. This also has the annoying foil lid but as it is a runnier scrub I can understand why. If you don’t like coffee then you will hate this scrub, as it smells like beautiful pot of freshly brewed java with a slight chocolately aroma. I find this amazing because 100% Pure is made with natural ingredients and it just goes to show that you don’t need to use synthetic fragrances to get a genuine aroma. And FYI this also suitable for Vegans!
This is a thin paste but spreads far and wide so you should get a fair few uses out of this tub. I found it is best to leave the shower off and scrub myself stupid on dry skin first then rinse. There is something cathartic about spreading oneself in a sugary coffee mix. I find coffee scrubs to have a sanitising/deordarising effect as well as softening. A word of warning though, after using this your shower will look like you’ve made mad passionate love to an expresso machine but this rinses easily and doesn’t leave an oily residue.
I want to get my hands on the full size tub of Cocoa Kona Coffee scrub when I’ve finished a few others and will be reviewing the Strawberry Lemonade scrub in Part 2.
