When life gives you lemons

The lemon must be one of the most versatile citrus fruits in the world. You can use them to make food and drink, cleaning products, and of course health and beauty.

Here are some of the lemony beauty things that are in my handbag…

Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream – This is a hard waxy balm and nothing like a cream at all. It smells like tart American lemonade and the tin is easy to carry around. Because of the texture I’ve been using in the winter as it is quite dense. I’m going to switch over to Lush Lemony Flutter soon because it has a lighter consistency.

Crabtree & Evelyn Citron Hand Therapy – This is an ‘age defying’ hand remedy and contains time-released antioxidants (Vitamin C and E) to help hands look younger. I like the light feel of this for the summer months and it has more of a bergamot type scent so it’s quite fresh. Even though this is sold as an anti-ageing hand cream there is no SPF which would be more helpful.

Body Shop Sweet Lemon Lip Butter – I love the Sweet Lemon Range but I can’t decide if I like this it or not. It’s quite creamy like a body butter so it does feel like you are putting cream on your lips. It does eventually melt and becomes more silky like a traditional lip blam. The scent is really light so isn’t as strong as the rest of the range which is shame.

So do you go for lemon in your beauty products or prefer something a bit different?

Good Morning Anju – I think the hand cream would great for a hot place like India as it’s very light and isn’t sticky.

I quite like the look/ sound of the cuticle ‘cream’ and LOVE lemon scented products. Unfortunately, my boyfriend hates anything slightly lemony so I have to refrain from buying any!

I love the scent of lemons! My cuticle treatment of choice is Lemony Flutter, but I do want to try Burt’s Bees as well, if nothing else for my bag like you said.
I really really dislike Body Shop’s lip products, I find them oily and not very moisturising at all. They smell nice though!

@Lily – Cuticle creams do help if you paint your nails a lot. Unfortunately most of the ones I’ve seen are lemon scented. I guess your fella would have to stay away from your fingers?
@The Nail Buff – I’m struggling to like anything from the Body Shop at the moment so you’re preachin’ to the choir!
@Sarah – I’ve got a few other C&E things I’m going to review soon as well. Have you tried their Aloe Vera handwash -It’s lovely!
@Sultry Red – Go forth and shop for lemony beauty products I demand thee!

Thanks for your comments beautiful beauty bloggers!
