What do you wash your face with when you are tired/drunk/lazy

What is your go-to cleanser when you are tired, drunk or otherwise can’t be asked to wash your face?

As beauty bloggers and those with a passion for skincare we rarely if ever admit that sometimes taking all our makeup off is a chore especially when you’ve had a skinful and all you want is your beautiful bed. As much as I love the ritual of using several different potions to clean and scrub my face there are some occasions that it’s just not going to happen. I’m thinking when you walk through the door at 4am, half-eaten McDonald’s Happy Meal in hand, bra straps digging into your shoulders with glitter on face that wasn’t there at the start of the evening…

I know a lot of peeps reach for beauty wipes, but I’m not a big fan because they never ever work on eye-makeup. I still look like a sweaty Marilyn Manson the next morning. My favourite cleanser for those moments of laziness is Balancing Cleanser with Aloe Vera from Alpha H.

Alpha H cleanser

A few years ago when I first started blogging I was lucky enough to win an Alpha-H hamper that contained a small tube of the Balancing Cleanser. I didn’t think much about it until I got married in the US & UK 2 years ago. I used it after both weddings when I was tired and hot and I knew I wasn’t going to perform my usual ritual.

What I love about this creamy cleanser is that even when you are too exhausted and can’t see straight you can stick this right in your eye and it won’t irritate. I’m sure Alpha-H wouldn’t recommend that but let’s face it when removing makeup at 4am that is what happens. Also because it’s thinner than a traditional cold cream it wipes really clean and doesn’t have a greasy residue afterwards. I wake up the next day and I don’t see Mr. Manson starting back at me which Jamie assures me is a good thing! FYI the packaging has since changed since I bought my last tube, it looks to be in a pump now which is even better.

Name your favourite cleanser in the comments below!

I think I would have to chose DHC oil cleanser, it gets everything off in one go and I don’t have to feel too guilty about not doing a second cleanse and the rest of my usual steps!

I’ve got some DHC kicking around and I’ve never used it – thanks for the reminder! And I get to see you next weekend yipee :D

It would have to be Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm. I save it for times like this, when I really can’t be arsed to double cleanse and I just want everything off. Its amazing!

Ooh I’ve got that cleanser too Jo – it’s gorgeous! I save mine for special occasions though as it’s so expensive. Jamie went to use it once and I had to grab it from him as half of it would be gone in one go! xoxo

I use my face cleanser, Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, but without the washcloth. It is very gentle but removes everything quickly.
