Sara Happ Vanilla Bean Body Scrub Review

Sara Happ Vanilla Bean Body Scrub 283g

Back in December I was sent a beautiful box of Sara Happ products. I nearly fainted when one of the managers at work handed me my box and I saw the return address. It was like winning the lottery. I mean really Sara Happ sending me a box of stuff!

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you’ll know that I love Sara Happ lip scrubs and will go to any lengths to get the limited edition ones. When I found out Sara added a body scrub to her line last summer I knew it would be decadent and I wasn’t wrong. Let’s break it down:

Packaging – All of Sara Happ’s creations are beautifully boxed with a white ribbon. This makes you feel like you are getting something really special and you are. The scrub tub is a sturdy plastic and my only moan is the annoying foil lid. I don’t like them as they are fiddly and don’t always come off in one go.

Scent – This is obviously scented with Vanilla Bean but Jamie and I both agree is smells like Greek Baklava – a sticky sweet honey and walnut creation.

Texture – This is super thick, and the sugar crystals are evenly sized and evenly distributed throughout the scrub so there is no mixing required. This contains soothing Kukui nut oil which is used by Hawaiian natives to help with skin irritations and burns.

Application – As this is so dense, you made have to add some water to get some movement. It really is like rubbing yourself down with sugar and honey so it is quite a decadent experience. I expected my skin to have a tacky texture afterwards because the mixture feels quite sticky but it rinses like a dream and doesn’t leave an oily residue in the bath. It’s also worth saying that this isn’t a foaming scrub, so you may still want to use a body wash afterwards if you feel you need it.

Final thoughts – I wouldn’t call this an everyday scrub because of the scent and texture. If I were single, I would use this before a first date as it would make me feel like I’ve really pampered myself. It’s a shame that SH doesn’t make a Vanilla Bean body butter as this would be the perfect partner. It has to be said though that you don’t need a moisturiser afterwards as your skin will be really soft and clean.

This isn’t available in the UK yet, but you can purchase it at Mise Beauty for £37.00
