Thank you Bath & Body Works for discontinuing another favourite product of mine…

So yes they’ve done it to me again! Discontinued (without notice I might add) a face mask favourite from the True Blue Spa range. I’ve been using the Blackberry Purifying Peel Off Face Mask for some time now and I never got round to reviewing it.

So the other day after Jamie and I had a face mask sesh, I thought I’d give it the notes it deserves even though you can no longer buy it!

Blackberry Peel off mask swatch

Price

At $12 it’s not too expensive and even thought I’ve already used it several times, I think this will last me the rest of year.

Scent

When I put something on face like moisturisers or masks they need to smell good. I have to say this smells more like blackcurrants than blackberries but it does’t matter it still smells fruity like you’d expect.

Application

Even though this is a runny mask, it’s easy to spread and you can build it up because it doesn’t dry too quickly. And the best bit is that it comes off your face like a skin which let’s face it reminds us of peeling glue off our hands in school!

Results

This is meant to peel-off dirt, oil and face goo and it really does without stripping your face. As you know I love a good clay mask but this a great alternative if you skin can’t take a tightening mud mask. I don’t even need a moisturiser after using this as my skin feels smooth and plump.

So what happens now? Well as I mentioned above I should be okay for some time. What is really annoying is that this mask always had excellent reviews on their website and from other bloggers. I’ve also seen the this compared to the Boscia Black Luminizing Mask which I have also reviewed but I do like this one better. Oh well c’est la vie!

Have any of your favourite products on gone to the beauty graveyard in the sky lately?

I hate it when products randomly get discontinued :( Love Bath & Body Works though. It’s a good few years since I was last in the States, but I used to stock up every time! Now I have to rely on my US relatives to bring stockpiles when they visit!!

Bath & Body Works is the reason I have this blog! They discontinued a coffee body scrub from the True Blue Spa range about 5 years ago and Jamie suggested I start a blog about my search for a replacement scrub.

Thankfully my mom went and bought about 30 because I tipped her off about it being discontinued. I had a feeling they were doing it because it was half price.

One day I’ll be rich enough so I can make my own requests from B&BW! :D

I can feel you. I have experienced the feeling also the same as what you feel. I have been attached to using a certain products that I like when it eventually being stopped in the market. So embarrassing.

I guess it’s inevitable that things get discontinued but when they are a best seller it doesn’t make any sense! Oh well it’s not like I’m going to stop using B&BW they have had me hooked for over 20 years! :D
