Purple glitter nail polish three way with Kiko, Revlon and Wet n Wild

Purple glitter nail polish three way with Kiko, Revlon and Wet n Wild

Whew it’s been a while since I did my last nail post and since then I’ve acquired several new ones. I even had to get another box to put them in – whoops! Anyway I was looking through my stash and wanted to compare these three as they are similar-ish.

Kiko 278

Can I just say I love Kiko nail polish as it has a good consistency and a decent brush. This is one coat and it dries super fast too! Look at the beautiful gold shimmery bits aren’t they lovely? I would probably do two coats with this one but if I was in a rush I could get away with one. I got this in Paris at the Kiko shop which was full to the brim of young Parisian women clambering over all the Kiko makeup colours. There is now one at Westfield in Stratford (East London) so no need to hop on the Eurostar!

Revlon Facets of Fuchsia

May you all strike me down but I have to say I think this is kind of Meh. The glitter is really pretty but I think the formulation is watery and the brush is super thin which makes applying chunky glitter a hassle. This is one coat and I had to blob it on to get some decent coverage and glitter bits. I think this will look better on a dark base so I will experiment with it a bit before I write it off.

Wet n Wild Fantasy Makers Purple Potion

Let’s not beat around the bush here, I bought this first of all because of the cute gravestone bottle. This was part of Wet n Wild’s Halloween themed collection that I got in the US. This also dries super fast and can get away with one coat although again I would use two. This is my favourite out of the three by only by a close margin.

So which is your fave ladies?

The Revlon one is really pretty but what a shame about the formula!

I think everyone has been suckered in by the Revlon one. It’s been a very long time since I bought anything from Revlon and it’s a shame that this is a bit pants! xoxo

Ah those polishes are all lovely! Sorry to hear about the crappy formula of the Revlon one, as it’s so pretty! I have heard that the Deborah Lippmann original has a better formula. The gravestone is too cute! x

Jamie laughed at the gravestone and said ‘what the hell is that, it’s for kids’! As if! I’ve never tried Deborah Lippmann but I’ve seen them on other blogs – total glitter p*rn! :D

I like the look of the wet n wild one :) I got Facets of Fuchsia too and have to agree with you about the formula. Everyone seems to rave about it but I thought it looked better for me with just one coat over a black polish.

This is a bit stupid but I thought the actual polish would be a purpley pink colour rather than really dark almost black. I was going to try it over white nail polish but realised that wouldn’t work. Well I didn’t pay that much for it so no biggie right? xoxo

I am happy you like the Kiko polish and I’ve got the Revlon one and I like it lots, even if I would not wear it for work (bought it in the US, I haven’t seen it in France)

The Wet & Wild one looks great! I like Facets of Fuschia, but it is such a pain to apply and to get it off! x

Well I’m glad it isn’t just me, I’m not nail polish expert so I thought I was just being picky for no reason. I’ll stick with my Barry M glitters for now – until something else grabs my attention right? :D
