Noble Isle Lightning Oak Shower Gel Review

Quick review – Noble Isle Lightning Oak Hair & Body Wash

Before I met I never knew premium shower gels existed. My bathing routine contained Lynx or whatever is was the shower that my mum had purchased. Fast forward 5 years later and I get excited about shower gel the way no man should!

I like Noble Isle for several reasons:

  • The scents err on the side of being manly without having that fake musky smell of every Christmas giftset I’ve ever received
  • The pump gives you just the right amount you need for your body
  • The packaging is sturdy enough that if you drop it in the shower it doesn’t smash to bits (yes that has happened before)

The Lightning Oak shower gel smells very British (or so says) I don’t know what that means exactly, but Noble Isle have come up with a cracking description:

An enduring, handsome fragrance, balancing smoky wood aromas with modern notes of crushed pepper and bergamot, enriched with toning extract of English oak.

A handsome fragrance indeed, and dare I say it Noble Isle (for me anyway) is the new Molton Brown. Now even though this is for both hair and body, I would just like to note that I prefer to only use it as a shower gel, I’m not a big fan of 2 in 1 products.

Thankfully Lynx et al. are a distant memory and I have my slightly mad, but lovely American wife to thank for showing me the errors of my ways….

I like the sound of this. (I was beginning to loose hope with the Lynx effect – doesn’t work for me!) Gonna give this a try

Hi Nick – Lynx doesn’t work for anyone mostly because it smells like 15 year old boys! Noble Isle is much more grown-up – good luck and thanks for stopping by! xoxo

This sounds wonderful! I have a sample set lying in waiting for me. At the moment I’m a bit overloaded on body wash so working my way through them. Looking forward to this now, especially since Molton Brown is my ultimate favourite! ;-)

Hey Ged – I know what you mean about being overloaded and I had to take photos of this before I let Jamie use it. The problems of beauty/grooming blogger eh? Let me know what you think when you start using it!

Great post – I need to invest in some more ‘manly’ shower gels so my mister stops using mine!!!

Hey Jo – I can’t guarantee that he’ll stop using your stuff but some Noble Isle might help the situation. I guess the days of the fellas just using soap are long gone – we’ve created grooming monsters! xoxo
