My thoughts: Bath & Body Works Island Escape
A few months ago my wonderful mom sent me a box full of the new Bath & Body Works Island Escape Collection and now that I’ve been using it for awhile I thought I should break down each of the scents. Each one includes a shower gel, body lotion, creamy body scrub, and body spray.
Hawaii Coconut – This smells very similar to the Coconut Lime Verbena scent that they discontinued from the Signature range a few years ago. It sweet and fresh with a citrusy background. I didn’t think I would like this one for some reason but I love it.
Fiji Passionfruit – This is my favourite of the three, it has a lot of lime and orange in addition to the passionfruit. This reminds me the most of being on the beach in Maui, Oahu, or the big island of Hawaii – I’ve never been to Fiji!
Bali Mango – This is probably the most subtle of the scents and would appeal to those who want something fresh but not too sweet and not too floral. It has the right balance of pink passionflower, mango, and sugar cane fragrance.
I just wanted to mention that the creamy body scrub (pictured above) is divine. Although it’s not a rough scrub, the sugar crystals that are used are plentiful and small enough to polish and refine your skin. It also lathers up, so it works great as a 2 in 1 body scrub and shower gel.
I admit in the last few years I haven’t really been all that bothered about Bath & Body Works stuff. So much of it had changed and none of the scents really excited me. However, this collection is has captured the essence of what made B&BW great in the first place. Scents that you couldn’t find anywhere else, nice thick shower gels, gorgeous body sprays, and hysteria inducing body scrubs. Well done B&BW – keep it up!
