Lush Sympathy for the Skin Hand & Body Lotion review by Sammy
Some of my favourite things in life can be rather alternative, Rum Raisin ice cream over Chocolate, Rum instead of wine and I quite like Brussel sprouts. My love for all things scented Banana seems to be an unusual one too! I really didn’t want to start this blog post off with the statement of I like Bananas , that seemed rather wrong and quite rude lol. It is true though ( minds out of the gutters ladies ) I love the fruit, banana cake, banana ice cream you name it I like it. So when I came across Sympathy for the Skin on the Lush website I really didn’t read any further past the inclusion of my yellow friends.
Bananas are included along with vanilla, almond oil and cocoa butter to really ensure that your skin is left super soft and with enough moisture to get you through the day. Lush actually include real mashed organic bananas in this cream which is why the scent is less custard and rather of ripe real bananas. The scent is something that I think you will either be a fan of or dislike with a passion as it is quite strong but if you like it you won’t be able to stay away from it.
The texture of the body lotion is not dense like a body butter but smooth and easily absorbed. You can see Vanilla seeds suspended within the lotion. It is amazing to use on your legs after shaving and seems to soothe any razor burn that I get from time to time. My rough patches on my elbows have more or less gone after even the toughest scrubs could not shift them. (You’ve not used the right scrubs! – )
I used the lotion yesterday morning and the scent has gone but the softness has stayed.
This is without a doubt a winner for me and I am now on my 3rd tub of the stuff and use it every day now that I have ran out of my Aveeno. I would even go as far to say that if I ever have children they better like Bananas because I will be using this after their baths!
Oh and for Rolling Stone fans out there Sympathy for the Skin was named after the track “Sympathy for the Devil”.
