Jamie and Philosophy Have a Zoe Christmas 3 in 1 480ml
– I was really excited about buying and using this shower gel as I’ve never used Philosophy before. I don’t know how I’ve gone this long without using any of their food based shower gels like Fudge Cake, Cinnamon Buns, and Strawberry Milkshake but I just never got round to doing it. I had high hopes and expectations for this considering the price (£13) and the reputation that Philosophy has.
The bottle itself is quite cute which is what attracted me in the first place. I’m not a huge fan of cherry smelling stuff but I do like to try new things. There really isn’t anything Christmasy about the scent, I think I was expecting a spicy cherry scent. I think it has sweet smell almost bordering on cough medicine but I can live with it. This is a 3 in 1 product to use as a shower gel, bubble bath, or shampoo. Can I just say the entire 3 in 1 concept doesn’t wash (excuse the pun) with me. You can use any shower gel as bubble bath and vice versa anyway. As far as using this as a shampoo I didn’t try it because I have colour treated hair.
This vivid red gel lathers really well into a dark pink foam and my skin did feel quite soft afterwards. The scent however doesn’t last at all. What a disappointment! Even though I wasn’t jumping up and down over the smell I did expect to skin to faintly smell of cherries. This kind of thing really annoys me because I think scent is very important. I choose a lot of beauty products based on what they smell like and if it’s a shower gel/bubble bath I expect the scent to linger. The packaging looks great but aside from that it’s like what’s the big deal? I think before I buy any more Philosophy gels I shall read some other blogger reviews first.
Jamie – I have never heard of Philosophy before which isn’t surprising. Every time buys something I learn about things I never knew existed. I can see why she and other girls (or is it women) would be attracted to this as the bottle is quite girly and cute.
I really liked the smell, it’s very strong and reminds me of boiled cherry sweets. Unfortunately I think this shower gel has the consistency of a cheap one – and believe me I know cheap shower gels! I found it to be quite runny and as I don’t use bath gloves or sponges to wash to myself like most people do I feel like wasted quite a bit of it trying to have a wash. I did use it on my hair too, only by accident though. I normally use Molton Brown 2 in 1 products so I automatically started washing my hair with it out of habit. It cleaned my hair pretty good but I wouldn’t use it on a regular basis. I thought I would smell of cherries when I got out of the shower but I didn’t smell of anything. I would rather use the Lush Glögg shower gel, the smell lasts all day and I can use it on my hair too.
This is available at John Lewis as a gift set for £14.75.
