Have overstuffed suitcase will travel

Hello everyone – hope all is well with you and yours and you’ve been enjoying the guest posts. Today is our last day in Aruba and as I sit here enjoying another gallon of iced tea I’ve come to discover one very important thing while I’ve been away for the last (almost) three weeks. I can’t pack suitcase to save my life. I tried and failed three times:

1. Suitcase for overnight stay at hotel for wedding number 1 – I forgot my wedding jewelry, but packed 5 different face masks of which I did none. I also managed to pack 6 different shades of purple eyeliner even though I was using green for my eyes, this wouldn’t have been such a problem but it made me panic while I was doing my makeup thus causing a Bridezilla tantrum until I found my green eyeliner.

2. Suitcase for 1 week in Ohio for wedding number 2 – Nearly forgot my Gok Wan girdle thingy until my best mate Lauren reminded me to pack it, packed far too many beauty products including heavy stuff like body scrubs even though I knew I would be buying and have bought about 15 new ones on various shopping trips. I brought full size shampoo and conditioner even though I was staying at a Marriott which usually means they have my favourite Aveda Rosemary Mint Shampoo and Conditioner available as free toiletries.

3. Suitcase for 1 week in Aruba – Somehow I managed to only pack 3 t-shirts for Jamie and 3 pairs of knickers for myself so had to spend one afternoon doing a load of laundry in the hotel utility room. I even managed to forget laundry soap but Jamie got some from the front desk otherwise I would have asked the cleaning staff for a bottle of Aveda Rosemary Mint Shampoo to wash our clothes.

I also thought I was being clever and tried to bring products that needed using up but I ran out of face wash while I was in Ohio and the moisturiser I decided to try while I was away (Alpha H) turned my face red and blotchy. My cousin Lela came to rescue and got me to purchase Aveeno Ultra-calming daily moisturiser with SPF 30 and Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Face Wash. Both products have kept my skin blemish and redness free while I’ve been away and kept from looking like a blotchy spotty bride for wedding number 2!

We travel back to Atlanta tomorrow for an overnight stay and then we’ll carry on back to Old Blighty. That means I have less than 12 hours in Atlanta to do more last minute shopping but as my amazing mom is leading the cavalry I know I will be victorious – she is a shopping general!

Maya and I love the Aveda Rosemary Mint shampoo and conditioner, too. We just ran out and are going nuts until we can get more. I’ve wanted to try the Philosophy exfoliant for awhile…I will go get it now! So glad you had a wonderful honeymoon and a safe trip home. Congrats again! XO

I wish I had Aveda Shampoo and Conditioner when I was a hormonal teenager it would have saved a lot of heartache. Maya is lucky she has such hip mom! Thanks Karen love you! :D
