February empties – Angels & Demons

by on March 4, 2012 · 4 comments

Happy Sunday Skin Scrubbers! It’s chucking it down here in Nottingham but at least it’s March which means Spring can’t be far away right? It also means it’s time to get out the blue basket of empties and see what I’ve managed to get through in Feb. I admit I could have done better, but Feb was a funny old month for me and my family and I’m glad to see the back of it. So let’s have look…

As usual you will probably see some familiar brands like Bath & Body Works, Haus of Gloi, and Le Petit Marseillais that feature heavily here at COPD. I won’t go into the deets of each one, but just note a few highlights:

Bath & Body Works Anti-bacterial Sweet Pumpkin hand soap – I love their Anti-Bac range and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin is one of their classic scents. These hand soaps come in loads of different scents, sizes and formats including gels and foams. I would always suggest you get some if you are visiting the US.

Lush Grass Shower Gel – This has to be one of my all time favourite shower gels ever, it’s definitely in my top 3. The scent is phenomenal and reminds me of my childhood in the 70′s. I don’t know how a shower gel can evoke such emotion but it does. I could kiss the person that created this!

Natura Ekos Andiroba Body Cream – I totally forgot I had this, because I put it aside as I didn’t want to finish it all in one go as Natura products are difficult to get ahold of in the UK. For those of you who are unaware of this fabulous Brazilian brand you need to find your closest South American buddy and get them to send you some of their hand creams and body lotions. If you have dry skin that just won’t go away this brand should help!

DemonsLove & Toast Pomme Poivre Hand Cream – I was really excited about this when I first bought it about a year ago I think, but the more I used the more it just didn’t do anything for me. I thought it was going to smell crisp like apples but it’s more floral and powdery. I do like L&T lip balms but this hand cream is nothing special for £10.95Molton Brown Ultra Smooth Coco De Mer Shower Gel – Yes another MB makes it into the rubbish bin and not in a good way. This has taken me ages to use, nearly a year which is unheard of for Molton Brown in our house but this just reminds me of baby powder and isn’t very uplifting.100% Pure Cocoa Kona Hydrating Body Wash – Finally this is the last one of three 100% Pure Body Washes that I bought. This one was also super stinky, nothing like coffee or chocolate. We ended up using this as a hand wash just to get rid of it faster or it would have stayed in the cupboard forever. Never again…Spending ban update So I’ve now gone 3 whole months without buying any beauty stuffs. I still have loads of stuff to get through so the spending ban is now indefinite – harsh but fair. I’ve also realised that blogging sometimes sabotages my efforts to use products at a normal pace and I will explain more about that later on this week.Is it Friday yet?Tagged as: Empties

    Good work, !
How did you like the Soap & Glory Pulp Fiction scrub? It’s in one of your pictures but it has no accompanying highlight. I haven’t seen it here in Canada so I’m very curious if it’s one of S&G’s newer, better scrubs!

Hey Ashley, I fully reviewed it a few months ago and compared to Bath & Body Works Creamy Body Scrub

As you can get B&BW in Canada now you may as well get one of their creamy scrubs as it’s pretty much the same. It’s quite squishy so it’s not a hardcore scrub more like a polish but it does the job. xoxo

Nicely done ! I like the look of the Haus of Gloi, would you believe I’ve never tried them? Something is seriously wrong with me. Also like the look of that Soap and Glory, I just bought a heap of stuff from them in Asia but didn’t see this one. Bought two big tubs of scrub, so excited to dip into them!

I shall be looking for your reviews then! I am shocked that you’ve never tried the Haus but then it took me about 18 months to try them too so I shall forgive you.
