Erica Renee Skincare Review | Happiness Whipped Shea Body Butter

My thoughts – Erica Renee Skincare Happiness Whipped Shea Body Butter

I’ve never heard of Erica Renee Skincare and my close work colleague was kind enough to bring back this from one of her recent shopping trips to London. She saw it at Spitalfields Market and said it looked something I would like. I had no idea what she was talking about, it’s not like I chit-chat about beauty products all day at work!

Anywho, Erica Renee Skincare is was born out of a quest to find something suitable for the creator’s son who has eczema, so her products are for the entire family. Monique, the founder sources her Shea Butter from West Africa and uses family beauty recipes for her formulations. I like that this a family run business and that everyone gets involved including her husband.

This came in a lovely Chinese Takeaway box with a ribbon but by the time it got back to Nottingham it was worse for wear so I didn’t take any pictures of it. I think the box is a nice touch and can be re-used or recycled. I have the ‘Happiness’ scent which is made up of sweet orange, mango, lime and jojoba oils. Even though this doesn’t contain cocoa butter the scent reminds me of Terry’s Chocolate Orange so it’s quite tempting just to spoon some out and eat it.

Hopefully the picture above illustrates how thick this body butter is, I even found it a bit difficult to get out of the tub. It’s somewhere between a solid balm and a body butter but melts on contact with the skin. I found this is too heavy for me to use everyday but it’s great for dry legs and feet before bedtime. I also used it as a hand treatment with gloves overnight which made them super-soft and smelling yummy. I’ve realised that coconut oil based products don’t sink in quickly enough for me, after trying this and making my own whipped body butter. I don’t know if my skin just isn’t as dry as others but coconut oil based creams just sit on my skin and make it difficult to get dressed afterwards. I will probably use this more as a treatment or as a massage cream until it’s finished. Then I’d like to try the ‘Holiday Romance’ scent which sounds lovely.

This is £10 for 100ml and don’t worry if you don’t live in London, you can order Erica Renee Skincare products from their website!
