Down with the kids – Barry M Bright Pink

Down with the kids – Barry M Bright Pink

by on June 7, 2017 · 16 comments

If you didn’t already know, I live in the urban sprawl that is Nottingham. This graffiti lives across the street from me in the the kids play area. Every few weeks or so the urban art collective Oxygen Thievez come and do their work on the wall. I’ve only seen them a few times but they aren’t youngsters, they look to be in their late twenties or early thirties. It’s quite funny watching them from my office window as they step back and admire their work.

It just so happens Barry M Bright Pink blends in nicely with the artwork!

I went a bit pink crazy when my spending ban finished and I can assure you I’m not really a pink kinda gal. I have to say at first I wasn’t keen on this shade but it’s grown on me. I think it’s a bit too cool for my skin tone and I experienced some crazy cuticle drag, but I’ve gotten a lot of compliments and was told it was a ‘happy colour’ so in my collection it shall stay. I think it’s a great colour for nail art too, OMG I’m turning into a girl!

So what say you ladies yay or nay?

@Lela – Hello my lubbins. I bought another Barry M yesterday with glitter. Well gone through a punk phase, hip hop phase, and everything else so I guess being girly is next? :D
@Vintage Makeup – Well I’m glad this made you happy and yes it is rather bubblegumy x
@Kizzy – thanks hun, Jamie thought I was nuts while he was taking the pics but after I posted them even he thought they were cool.
@Ayshe – Thank my dear!

Def yay, this is fab! and you are so lucky having official graffiti near you, I really want to take some pics of graffiti artists at work, pref at night by torch light but OH is convinced I’ll end up getting my camera nicked and my head kicked in, such a drama queen!

@Zoe – Thanks Zoe I thought so too. I don’t mind graffiti if it is ‘organised’ like this mural, it feels more than art than random scribbles.
@liloo – Well that’s what Jamie thought when I dragged him over the street with the camera – What does nail polish have to do with graffiti! I just need to wait for them to change the mural now!
@Miss A – Well they haven’t come round in a while so I think they are due to change it soon. I don’t know if the council lets them use the wall or they just do it off their own back. But I will do more murals/nails in the future.
@Jade – Can you get Barry M in Oz? They have truly addicted me to nail polish now!

Thanks for the comments ladies, glad you like the background x
