Don’t miss the boat – make sure you vote!

FACT – Women have only been able to legally vote for the last 82 years. Women over the age of 30 were given the right to vote in 1918. But it was a full ten years later in 1928 that all women gained full voting rights in the United Kingdom. Thanks to women like Emmeline Pankhurst we enjoy a right that, for the most part we now take for granted. Because of Emmeline, you can sleep soundly at night knowing that your opinion counts and your voice will be heard. So on May 6 make sure you vote! Here are the main and other political parties:

Liberal Democrats – How does £10,000 tax free income sound to you? View their full manifesto here.

Conservative – How do you feel about their immigration policy? Is it fair? View their full manifesto here.

Labour – Can they rebuild the banking system? What will they do to help the economy? View their manifesto here.

Green Party – Are they just about environmental issues? What about the NHS or Housing? View their manifesto here.

UKIP – Have you seen what they are saying about Pensions, Welfare and Social Security? View their manifesto here.

The Monster Raving Loony Party – They have a policy for the Loch Ness Monster! View their manifesto here.

Nice piece. It is really important in my opinion to use all means possible to get people out to vote. From the Barons of the Magna Carta to the system we have today, took over 700 years’ worth of reforms. And now the battle is won, it has taken less than 50 years for people to give up and not care.

In my opinion, voting is not just a right, its a duty.

I agree Simon. There are loads of people out there who moan about the state of the nation and when you ask them about voting they say there is not point!? I don’t know how anyone has ever reached the conclusion that there is no point to voting!
